patchwork pillow with applique

I have had this idea to make a pillow like this for awhile. Even though I have multiple project that I should be working on I decided to make this instead.

I took some of my old jeans, that had too many holes and were a little too tight, and trimmed the seams off of them. Then I cut the fabric in to 4" squares. I sewed them together to make a pillowcase that would cover the pillow form I had. Before I sewed the back on I made a 'A' applique out of some scrap felt.

It turned out like I thought it would. The only issue I had was today's jeans have a stretch to them so when sewing the jeans I had to be careful not to stretch the fabric.

Looks like it is a hit.
